Xiaomi had recently confirmed that it would be soon unveiling a Snapdragon 845 mobile platform powered gaming smartphone. An official invitation poster that has surfaced today confirms that the Black Shark gaming phone would be launching on April 13.
In a post on Weibo, Xiaomi-backed Black Shark teases the gaming capabilities of the smartphone, whilst also showing off the design. Most of the right half of the smartphone can be seen, and curved edges are visible, apart from the power button on the right, a tipster claims leaked design sketches of the upcoming gaming smartphone show it will use an ‘X antenna’ technology – something the company had teased itself back on April 1. The schematics (seen below) emphasize curved corners similar to the what we see in the official teaser, with GPS, Wi-Fi, LTE, and MIMO networks placed correspondingly across the four corners.
Xiaomi BlackShark is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 2452 single-core and 8452 multi-core, 2160 x 1080 display(18:9 aspect ratio), alongside an Adreno 630 GPU & it’s come in three variants having 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. The Black Shark is expected to have a sturdier design with a metal unibody design. It’s also rumored to be running Google’s latest mobile OS, Android 8.0. The smartphone is most likely to be a China exclusive model, which is expected to retail at $ 500.
