Xiaomi’s Gaming Smartphone Black Shark To Launch On 13th April

According to a latest Weibo post, Black Shark, the subsidiary smartphone brand of Xiaomi is all set to launch its first gaming smartphone on 13th April 2018. In February and March of 2018, there were many leaks and rumors about the Xiaomi Black Shark. The latest teaser image officially confirms the launch date of the new device. However, the company has not used the word Xiaomi anywhere on its teaser image.

Following leaks from both Geekbench and AnTuTu, we’ve got a pretty good idea of what the Xiaomi Blackshark will allegedly feature. First of all, a recent Geekbench benchmark result seems to detail an unannounced phone designated the Xiaomi “Blackshark SKR-A0”.

Xiaomi BlackShark is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 2452 single-core and 8452 multi-core, 2160 x 1080 display(18:9 aspect ratio), alongside an Adreno 630 GPU, 32GB of built-in storage and the same 8GB of RAM. The Black Shark is expected to have a sturdier design with a metal unibody design. It’s also rumored to be running Google’s latest mobile OS, Android 8.0. The smartphone is most likely to be a China exclusive model, which is expected to retail at ~US$ 500.
