The OnePlus 6 Alert Slider Will Also Control and Adjust of Camera Focus
[dropcap]O[/dropcap]nePlus is now teasing the features of the Upcoming OnePlus 6 flagship killer smartphone which indicates that its arrival is close at hand. Today a new camera feature was teased by the BBK-owned company. Surprisingly the new feature will involve the well known alert slider, present in some of the company’s recent flagships, and that will indeed make a comeback on the OnePlus, but its functionality will be greatly expanded.
Today – On Twitter, OnePlus has released a small video that has a caption of “slider to focus with Alert Slider” which clearly reveals what to expect from it. Till now, the Alert Slider button that sits on the side of OnePlus was available for adjusting sound settings. However, beginning with OnePlus 6, the physical slider button will be available for refocusing while snapping a photo.

Apparently, beginning with the OnePlus 6 the company will expand the capabilities of this physical button. Users of the upcoming smartphone will be able to adjust and control the camera focus by moving the slider & OnePlus 6 will carry support for full-screen gestures for enhanced navigation experience. Since OxygenOS is well known for being a custom software with a lot of options and possibilities, so even if don’t like the new feature we suppose that the company will add an option to disable it on the settings.
OnePlus is heavily focused on the Upcoming OnePlus 6, and the recent number of rumors and leaks suggest a launch by the end of April or early May, we can’t affirm this since the company has been very punctual with its June schedule for the release of newer OnePlus smartphones. According to the leaks, the OnePlus 6 will feature the almighty Snapdragon 845 paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage on the high-end variant. Pricing still is a mystery, but a shady leak suggested that this may be the most expensive OnePlus smartphone to the date, reaching the $799 price tag, hopefully not.
Since OnePlus is consistently teasing the upcoming flagship phone, it can be said that the company is preparing to launch it earlier this year. It is speculated that the smartphone may debut as early as at the end of this month. CEO Pete Lau confirmed the report on the OnePlus blog and said that the smartphone will come with the Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8 GB of RAM 256 GB ROM, 6.28-inch (1080×2280) Full HD + Optic AMOLED display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a notched display. The device will be also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass on top, it might also feature other screen calibration options such as DCI-P3.
At the rear panel, OnePlus 6 is expected to sport a dual rear setup with 16 MP + 20 MP primary camera with the f/1.7 aperture on both lenses & 20 MP front-facing camera with the f/1.7 aperture, non-removable 3450mAh battery, it will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with Oxygen OS on top. More information on it is expected to surface in the coming weeks.
