LG G7 Leaks RGBW Screen With a Notch and a Chin, 16MP F/1.5 dual Camera
The LG G7, the successor of G6 that is yet to be released has started to surface online thanks to the leaks from different sources. LG is going to join the notch club, which has become a trend in 2018, with its newest flagship. New leaks suggest the smartphone will sport an M+ LCD, which is an RGBW panel that can be up to 35 percent more power efficient because of the white pixels. Even though this is nothing new, we haven’t seen an impressive implementation yet. This is achieved by using the new white pixels along with the usual RGB pixels.
According to this source and a CAD-based rendering of the phone, the screen will also have a notch. The selfie camera, ambient light sensor, earpiece will all be inside that notch. The screen would measure in at 6 inches and is expected to have an aspect ratio of 19:9. Below the screen, there will be a chin as well.
LG G7 is going to retain its 3.5mm audio jack will also be present with the being made of glass and metal, thus giving it support for wireless charging and hopefully the same quad DAC as we saw in this year’s LG V30s Thinq. On the back, the new G7 will have a camera combination of 16MP + 16MP dual sensors with a F/1.5 aperture dual rear camera, as seen on Galaxy S9. The phone is also expected to a vertical camera placement differing from the usual horizontal placement.

LG G7 will also harness the company’s AI efforts. It will have a dedicated button for AI and will focus on Q lens and Q voice. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and will be complemented with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory (6GB of RAM and 128GB on the G7+ is expected). The phone is said to have a glass sandwich design with dimensions 153.2 x 71.9 x 8.2mm. Thanks to the camera bump, at its thickest side, the G7 is said to be 8.5 mm thick.
According to the renders, the G7 features a power button on the right and a fingerprint scanner on the back. This is something new since up until now LG has been placing its power button on the rear with fingerprint scanner underneath the button. The LG G7 might be unveiled by the end of this money and customers in Korea will be able to buy the phone from mid-May.
